Working food drive this morning

Good morning, I am into work early working a food and money drive to help the needy. I am here working to make sure nobody tries to steal the donation money they are collecting. What a world we live in! working today did make me want to give to those in need, especially during these tough times. Maybe when I get home I will clean out the cans in the pantry and some clothes that I do not wear anymore and give to the salvation army. I always say that I am going to do it and just never get around to it. Maybe this holiday season will be the year.

Riley at 14 months

This is a little short video of Riley at 14 months. She is moving around very good now. She eats only regular food, no more baby food. She has the same vocabulary, maybe a few more words. She can saying quite a few words, but chooses not too. If you try to get her to say something, she laughs and gives you a sly little smile. She is definitely defiant and does not like the word "no". I will try to be better with the posting.

Lisa goes under the knife today to remove her tonsills. We are at the hospital now and she is waiting for the surgery to begin.

It's official. Riley is now walking, she has taken some steps before but now is taking several steps without losing her balance.

Riley is officially standing on her own now. She can walk on her own, but is still a little chicken. I think she will start walking any day now.

The Injury!

For those of you who do not already know little Riley was injured on Sunday (7th) the day after her birthday. She was riding in her new car with her Granddaddy and I. We were walking around the block when the door flew open and Riley went out head first. My father was behind her pushing the car and dove and caught her head from hitting the pavement. Unfortuantely, her foot wasn't so lucky. She scrapped her foot up pretty bad. The xrays were negative and we were sent home to bandage her up. After a day she was putting more and more weight on it. She is crawling, standing and walking on.it now. Tough little girl, almost back to normal. We still need to post some pics from the party, it was a great time.

My Saturday at work

Today I am assigned to a religious event on the Mall. The event is called "The Call" and I have been saved and blessed and prayed for all day. Hopefully all the prayers help out. In case you are jealous and want to watch they are broadcasting live on God TV on the internet or directv channel 365. Believe me the short video doesn't.do the large crowd justice. Wow a couple of fanatics down here. Hopefully I get off a 2 pm still.

Pigtails!

Well as you can see I have pretty bad about keeping the blog updated, the last post was over a month ago. No excuses, but we have been busy. We kept saying that we were going to post to catch up but we never did. I will try to keep up with the blog a little better, maybe some nice comments from everyone out there reading would help keep me motivated.
Yes, Riley has pigtails in the picture. She finally has enough hair to look like a mess most of the time. Riley is doing great, she can stand up on her own now for a few seconds. She will take a couple of steps, but then if you do not catch her she will fall over. She is very fast with the crawling, we had to invest in some gates to keep her contained. She is eating mostly regular food now with a few jars and bottles still mixed in. Her favorites are hot dogs, mac and cheese, chicken, spagetti and juice. The only confirmed words are still Mama and Dada. She likes to mess with Lisa about saying Mama. More to come later...

Police funeral

I came in early today for a police funeral. This was the second one in a month. Ofc. Findley worked for the P.G. County Police Department in Maryland and was killed in the of duty. He was run over by a fleeing suspect who later died in police custody. Findley was only a couple of years older than me. He had a wife and a couple of small children. Very sad day at the church and cemetery. This is just a small clip of the police escort at the church.

The New Car

We decided to buy a new car the other day and take advantage of the prices and financing. We purchased a 2008 Chevy Tahoe.

Week 2 of Grammy's visit!

Grammy is on her second week of her visit to spend time with Riley. She arrived last Monday and has been keeping Riley everyday while we work. Here is a short video of her feeding Riley. They have enjoyed each others time playing with Riley's toys, reading books, going for walks, going to playground. We all went on Sunday to the pool, this was Riley's first time swimming and she loved it. I think she might be part fish. There will be pictures of the pool visit posted soon.
We are going to the Marine Corps Museum today, we will post more pictures later. Well, except for Lisa, she had to go back to work today. :(

We are at the Game!

Hi all, just a quick post to tell you we brought Riley to her first baseball game. We are watching the Rangers play the Nationals at Nationals park. For those of you that do not know, my cousin Jamie is dating a pitcher for the Rangers, Kason Gabbard and he is pitching tonight. He is doing good so far. top of the 5th rangers are winning 4-2 and Kason is still pitching.

Update: We just got home and the Rangers won tonight 13-3 and Kason won. Thank you Jamie and Kason, we enjoyed the game. Riley had a blast, she was waving and smiling at everyone. She especially loves her cousin Jamie.

Krista and Brandon's Wedding!

Where was RIley.......

I'm sure some of you are wondering where little Riley was while Mom and Dad were "whooping" it up in Rochester.......she was in good ole Groton with the NY family!!!! Riley spent half of the weekend with "NO RULES" Nana, Papa, Aunt Liz and the cousins!! As usual, Marissa and Garrett loved to help out with the little bird! The kids had a great time with Nana! The other half of the weekend was spent with Grandma LaLa, Aunt Dee, Uncle Brett, Grandpa Jack and Linda. She once again charmed everyone with her sweetness!!! I sound a little sickening....don't I?? I can't help it! Everyone said that she was wonderful. I'm sure that could be a "sweet" version from all of the grandparents, but I don't care.....I'm going with the "she was perfect, wonderful, sweet, lovey........and so and so on.....you get the idea :0)

We picked up Riley Sunday morning and we think she might have been a little miffed at us for just up and leaving her! She did give daddy a big Father's Day kiss though!! She couldn't stay mad at us!!

We are all back in Virginia now and getting back into the swing of things!!!

The First Smooch!!

In case anyone missed the moment.....Tony did a little video of the pronouncing of husband and wife and the first SMOOCH!!! Krista was an absolute stunning bride!! B-No looked pretty handsome too!! Everything went off without a hitch. The photographer made it to the church without getting into a car accident...hehe.....I had to throw that in! The AC was broken in the limo so they upgraded us to a Hummer....not bad at all!!!! We had a wonderful time....it definitely makes me miss Rochester and my friends. It was great to see everyone again! Congrats to Kynici and B-No!!!

Riley is finally on the move. She is moving right along. I would not say it is a full crawl on her knees, but she moves around pretty good.

Team Reid in town!

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Team Reid stopped by for a visit to meet Riley in person! With every one's hectic schedule Sallie was able to "squeeze in" a quick trip!! We took the girls to the playground on Sunday....oh was it hot!!! Riley LOVED the swing! Tony had to work Rolling Thunder all day so it was just us girls hanging out. We grilled out for dinner and the girls entertained Riley. I don't think she knew what to do with herself with so much attention!! The weekend flew by, of course, but it was GREAT non-the-less! Team Reid rolled out this morning for a jaunt up to New Jersey and then back to good ole New York!
