Dinner with Lynnea!!

Tree Job

Let me just start off by saying that the people that have to climb trees for a living are crazy. I was nervous just watching these guys work. They took down two large dead oak trees in my back yard in a half a day. A little stump grinding, topsoil and seed in the afternoon and all done. The corner of the yard looks a little bare, we still have not decided what we are going to do there. Maybe some type of trees for a little privacy.

Rolling Thunder 2009

Here is a couple of pics from my day last Sunday for Rolling Thunder. It is always a long day, but it is for a good cause. I am sure that it would be a lot more fun to attend if I was not working. There was a lot of bikes as usually, and only one serious accident. That is not too bad considering the amount of people and bikes in town.

Riley has officially started potty training. Two days ago on Monday was her first time using the potty. She has used it a couple of times since then. We are so proud of her. I will try to post a video of her little dance later after using the potty, it is so cute.

Today was a beautiful day to play outside on the water table! Riley was sweet and gave Jesse some water. Very cute!!

Shopping with Riley

We brought Riley to the mall last night to do some quick shopping. I was a little scared how much she enjoyed herself. She especially liked pottery barn kids, she was trying to carry everything she saw out the door. Not even 2 years old and already a shopaholic.

Riley's new slide

Riley got a new slide for Easter. We are still a little cold here, so we set in up inside. The first day she was a little apprehensive. By the second day, as you can see, she is a old pro. Riley loves her new slide.

VVM flagpole

At the VVM there is a flagpole with american flag. It has a brass base with all the armed services insignias. The Marine corps insignia is polished by current and former Marines. Got to love Marine Corps tradition. Semper Fi!

It's snowing

It's snowing in Virgina today. I thought we were done with this stuff. I don't live far enough south.

Nice day for a bike ride!

The weather is reaching almost 80 degrees today. I decided to get the bike out for a ride. I took a nice 50 mile rode trip today around town. I love the freedom of the solo bike, my work bike still has the sidecar on.

We have decided that this weekend we are changing the flooring in the living room from a carpet to a dupont laminate wood floor. It is a long overdue project. There goes the weekend!

I had to escort the president out to Andrews air foce base today because it was too windy for the helicopter. We actually do this quite a bit, the reason that I am writing this is because I actully saw him today go out of his way to stop and talk to some of the military people and families waiting for the departure. He did not have to stop and shake hands with them it was a nice thing to do. It could just been a photo op, but I prefer to think he did it out of the kindness of his heart. Anyways I snapped a quick picture od air force one on the tarmac. enjoy

Recently Riley has turned into quite the Mom with her baby dolls! She burps them and feeds them and pushes them around in the baby stroller!
